757 Uplifters Doing Park Cleaning On A Beautiful Day!

Combining environmentalism with social good, fresh air, and even a little bit of exercise on a beautiful day!

On May 25th, 757 Uplifters has started some new park clean-up efforts, and we started with Birchwood Malibu Park! It is a beautiful neighborhood park and people in the neighborhood care about maintaining the environment, as well as the Pickleball courts. There is a nice pond that ducks love to swim and fish call the pond their home…and it is such a quiet and serene place, especially in the early mornings. Dog walking is very popular at the park, and I am pleased that the park could be adopted! All places could use a little “TLC”, after all.

Combining Environmentalism With Fundraising!

While cleaning parks, I wanted to look into combining additional social good with environmentalism, and so far, I came up with using Charity Miles to raise money through walking/running during our clean-up efforts. We would be walking around anyway, so it has been a great way to habit stack! I am going to look into other apps with social good in mind, and keep you posted on new ideas and new things happening with 757 Uplifters and the communities we serve!

I got the opportunity to use my new extendable rod…needless to say, I was having fun with it! A great tool to help clean the edges of the water and other hard to reach places!
