757 Uplifters May 9th Park Cleanup!

It was wet and windy, but thankfully, the rain remained just a drizzle and did not become heavy!

Nature is beautiful…minus the trash bag on the surface of the water!

757 Uplifters and I have still been very active in the community, and now, I am trying to dedicate at least 30 minutes during the evenings to get immersed in my passion projects! I have so much to discuss and I will start with discussing the latest park clean-up event that the group did on May 9th — while the weather had me a bit nervous for a little while, we managed to get done without getting soaked! Per usual, the park was very peaceful and beautiful — There were six of us doing cleaning, with two attendees being teenagers, which is always wonderful to see. I have a 10ft pole (1ft, but extends up to 10ft) that has been an absolute gamechanger with helping me get trash that’s in the water, like the trash bag in the photo above! Me and the team split up to get done as quickly as possible…for one, to get down before the weather got worse. Also, it just makes more sense and tends to be a logical thing to do during park cleanups during the day. We split into smaller groups and got SO MUCH TRASH…more than we typically have, up until now. One of the members got to an area where it seemed like someone had a trash bag that EXPLODED! He was kind enough to send me the photo he took where he saw all the trash!

Lots of trash on the ground!
You see all that trash??? I wonder what actually happened…

We Ended Up Filling Several Bags!

While the photo above is certainly a LOT of trash (and a head scratcher), our total for the day was SIX bags, with several being full! With the power of teamwork and unity, it was an easy day’s work. For one person? There would have been a LOT of backtracking. Still, even if there was a lot of backtracking, the good news is that our park cleanups also make use of the Charity Miles app, so one person would have had A LOT of miles towards the charity of their choice! We went out into nature, helped keep nature clean, raised some money for charities, and volunteer hours were earned!

All in a day’s work!
