On Memorial Day weekend, 757 Uplifters made cards for hospitalized kids. We are able to share love, thanks to the sacrifices of others! Moving forward, this website will document what has been done during the events! Since I have seen how cards have brought happiness and love to both children and families personally, I want to keep track of the cards that have been sent out. The group got together and made 28 cards, and over the years, over 2,000 cards have been made and sent out!

There are 28 hand-made cards on a table that will be sent to hospitalized children to cheer them up!
Making cards is a great way to show love, and also, show people that they are in your thoughts!

One of the things I love about making cards is that I get to exercise the creative parts of my brain, if that makes sense. For me, it is a very relaxing, therapeutic experience that makes me also think about how I would express love and/or kindness. This is important to me, because part of expressing either of those things is how we think about them, for ourselves and for others. I feel that volunteers agree, since I get a lot of questions like: “How old are the kids who are receiving cards?” or “Do you think a kid would like [INSERT THING]?” — such thinking helps us frame what love and kindness and positive reinforcement look in our own lives! One of the most interesting things, when we are making cards, is that I have volunteers who sit and say: “I can design the card, but I am struggling on what to say…” — That’s wonderful, because as we sit and think, we realize that expressing kindness, in all the different situations we are able to do so, requires care and consideration. I’ll post again for future events!
