This blog post is supplemental material that relates to my RJ’s World Lens podcast episode, “Time Management To Get More Out Of Time, Not To Master Time Itself!”, which you should totally listen to! The episode, and this blog post, are both inspired by real life, with things I have been personally dealing with and experiencing. I have been extremely busy, with personal projects and personal development, as well as with community service and networking, and will be up until at least December! I have been thinking a lot about all the things I have going on, as well as the things I love and the things I want to do, with the website and podcast work (as well as social media management) being at the front of my mind…and I had to remind myself that I am wearing MANY HATS, and that I have been very solid with the management of time as it relates to the podcast, event scheduling and event management, and a new certification project, on top of everything else! When working to manage time and how we use it, it’s critical to remember that you cannot MASTER time — that definitely allows for more flexibility in our approach to time management and knowing that it is a skill that we are not born with. That flexibility, and generosity with self, are actually key components that allows us to get the most of out the time we are able to use more efficiently and help us to understand that, during the process, we want to be more efficient. We aren’t supposed to get everything we want, but we can set goals to get things we need, as a result of time management.
Sacrifice Is Key To Growth…

Reading the header above, sacrifice can sound so……ominous, for lack of a better word, but my intention isn’t to be ominous, but to state a simple truth, at least as things currently are as of this post: There are 24 hours in a day, 7 days in a week. We all operate on sleep (the amount varies), so when you factor commuting and work, I’d say that most people run into a common hurdle — they aren’t able to do all the things they want to do in a day or a week or a month or a year! It is such a common problem, that people are constantly looking into things like lifehacks or looking into apps to better schedule blocks of time for specific purposes. I love gaming, for example, and I used to game a lot more. Gaming hasn’t went away, but gaming is also not obsessed with me and doesn’t mind if I share some of my time with other tasks or projects or priorities. I game where I can, and it doesn’t have to be every single day, but I still do it because I enjoy it. Sacrifice doesn’t automatically mean that you fully discard everything you ever loved or held dear! You will have to make time for things that really matter, as priorities shift, so be sure to listen to the podcast episode and work to be better with managing YOUR time. Just remember not to let such management lead to obsession that will be soul-sucking!
